About IFAE

The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium between the Catalan Government, Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, a public university). IFAE was formally created in 1991, by Decree number 159/1991. As stated in its By‐laws, IFAE’s main goal is to carry out research and to contribute to the development of high energy physics from a theoretical, experimental and technological point of view.

About the position

The successful candidate will be expected to play a central role in:

  • Organize, coordinate and ensure the proper functioning of the Departament and its staff for the achievement of its objectives.
  • Participate in meeting, seminars and technical and working meetings related to the new of HR.
  • Mediate conflicts, intervene in situations of termination of contracts.
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with the Company Committee.
  • Implementation and updating of the institution’s Equality Plan, convening the Monitoring Committee and carrying out the actions set out in the plan.
  • Detecting training needs, as well as planning, preparing, implementing and evaluating the annual training plan and any other training activities.
  • Support the research/structure groups in the process of describing the position, preparing the selection process and conducting interviews.
  • Other necessary tasks related to Human Resources Departament.

About the contract:

  • Full time contract (40 hours/week), from Monday to Friday.
  • Indefinite contract for scientific-technical activities (article 23 bis of Law 14/2011, of 1 June, on Science, Technology and Innovation).
  • IFAE Professional category: Tècnic(a) de gestió, nivell 2.
  • Gross salary will be within the range of 37.000€/year and can be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • The selected candidate is expected to join IFAE as soon as possible.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Labour Sciences, Law, Psychology or similar.
  • Specific training in human resources and labour relations.
  • Minimum 2 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work in a multilingual environment (English, Catalan and Spanish).

It will be valued:

  • Experience in public research centres.
  • Knowledge of the basic applicable regulations (Science Law, labour regulations…)

Evaluation criteria:

Applications of candidates fulfilling the required skills will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Experience at research or technology centres (35 points).
  • Knowledge of the basic applicable regulations (35 points).
  • Profile matching (30 points).
